Industrial Internet Of Things Testbed

Under the motto "Making digitization tangible", HTW Dresden has set up the Industry 4.0 model factory - the Industrial Internet of Things (IIoT) Test Bed - a research and evaluation infrastructure for IoT solutions in the manufacturing environment.
The test environment was funded by the Federal Ministry of Education and Research (BMBF) with a discrete manufacturing process and all typical industrial components were designed to realistically simulate complex manufacturing and logistics processes.
In addition to research and development tasks, the test bed also serves as a demonstration and information platform. In a free tour, we will inform you about current research projects and use practical demonstrators to show the possible uses of Industry 4.0 key technologies. The model factory is aimed at decision-makers from administration, politics, and business in various sectors who want to introduce digitization and IoT solutions. The aim is to secure and strengthen the long-term competitiveness of companies in international comparison.

5G private Campus

The private campus testbed 5G is a dedicated facility for testing and developing 5G technology in a controlled environment. We offer a starter pack for companies and organizations interested in exploring the potential of 5G in their operations. The starter package includes access to the test bed facilities, including a small 5G network consisting of base stations, antennas, and other necessary equipment. The package also includes access to technical expertise to help companies understand and implement 5G technology.
As part of the testing process, companies are provided with three SIM cards for guided testing. Thus, we offer the opportunity to explore 5G technology in a controlled environment, experiment with new applications and use cases such as real-time video streaming or remote control of devices, and drive innovation and growth in their operations.

5G private Campus (Use Case Package)

The private campus testbed 5G is a dedicated facility for testing and developing 5G technology in a controlled environment. We offer a use case testing package for companies or organizations that want to explore the potential of 5G in their operations.
The use case check package includes access to the test bed facilities, including a small 5G network with base stations, antennas and other necessary equipment. The package also includes access to technical expertise to help companies understand and implement 5G technology.
As part of the test process, companies are provided with three SIM cards for guided tests and use case implementations. We offer the opportunity to explore, experiment and further develop 5G technology and your respective use case in a controlled environment in cooperation with technical experts. With use case testing, companies can specifically test and validate the effectiveness of their ideas before investing further in implementation.

IoT Lab for Complex IoT Technology – fast prototyping

The testbed IoT Lab is a dedicated facility for testing and developing complex IoT technology for rapid prototyping in a batch co-innovation package of three to four partners.
A rapid prototype is a scaled-down version of the final IoT solution designed to be built and tested quickly in a controlled environment. The partners work closely with the technical experts to test and refine the prototype with the aim of identifying and solving any problems and challenges that may arise before further investments are made in the development. The project typically lasts three months, providing ample time to test and refine the IoT solution in a controlled environment.

IoT Lab for Complex IoT Technology - hackathon

The testbed IoT Lab is a dedicated facility for testing and developing complex IoT technology. With the help of a three to four-day hackathon, the participating teams work together to develop innovative IoT solutions.

During the three-month preparation period, the teams will work together under the guidance of technical experts to design and prototype their IoT solutions. They also have access to the testbed IoT Lab facilities, which typically include a range of IoT devices, sensors, and other necessary equipment to test and refine their solutions in a controlled environment.

The teams then present their solutions to a jury, which evaluates the solutions based on criteria such as innovation, feasibility, and scalability. The winning teams may receive prizes or other incentives.

IoT Lab for Complex IoT Technology – Co-Innovation

The testbed IoT Lab is a dedicated facility for testing and developing complex IoT technology in a controlled environment.

During the one-day workshop, participants will work alongside technical experts from the testbed IoT Lab to explore new technology trends, understand the latest developments in IoT and identify innovation opportunities. The workshop is designed for collaboration and interactivity, with a focus on exploring new ideas, generating new insights, and prototyping. The workshop usually includes a mix of presentations, discussions, and hands-on activities. Technical experts provide guidance and support throughout the process, helping participants to understand the technical aspects of IoT and how they can be applied in different contexts.

Readiness Checks

The strongly implementation-driven approach of the Readiness Checks is based on 1-day workshops as well as tools and templates specially developed for this purpose. The time commitment of the companies remains low during the entire process. We have created an easily accessible tool that companies can use to assess and position themselves better in the areas of digitization, innovation, and IT. They determine where there is an urgent need for action in the company and create the basis for effective position determination and implementation planning in the company.

Potential Analysis

We specialize in helping individuals reach their true potential. In our potential analysis, we provide valuable insights into your innovative ability and identify growth opportunities through personalized coaching sessions. By understanding your level of innovation, you can identify strengths, drive innovation, increase customer satisfaction and stay ahead of the competition.

Consultancy to Implement Actions

After a readiness check has been completed, we offer possible support for the company in the implementation of the results with our experienced consultants, innovation coaches, and industry experts.

As part of the EDIH Saxony funding, you can take advantage of the free analysis of the degree of digitization of your company or public sector organization. This serves as an initial orientation and basis for further use of our more in-depth offers.
